KitKat Brownies

My best friend once sent me a picture of KitKat brownies with a *heavy breathing* meme and I had the picture saved in my photo stream since then. I wanted to make the brownies for him so I had it on my 'To-bake list'.
If you like your brownies rich then these are for you. It's the chocolate gooey goodness on the bottom, KitKat bars in the middle and lastly covered with a thick chocolate ganache to keep them cozy.

I don't like my brownies cakey and this brownie recipe gives just the perfect texture-fudgy and gooey but not too cakey.

When I baked the brownies, I baked them for the first time and gave them away even before tasting. So I had my fingers crossed! But I had spared a piece to taste which I tasted after giving the rest of the brownies away.

I was in the chocolate dreamland when I took a bite of the gooey chocolate goodness! It is absolutely the BEST and EASIEST recipe!

I made theses brownies one more time afterwards, verifying that the recipe was consistent and delicious every time and this time I did not spare a piece for the tasting process, I just got good feedback.

You can customize the brownie more to your taste; you could add any other chocolate instead of KitKat or even throw in some chocolate chips. The choice is all yours!

CAUTION: The brownies are chewy, dense, and full of a rich chocolate flavor!

Ingredients

Brownie:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup + 1 Tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 4bar KitKats
Chocolate Ganache:
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened.
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon icing sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (Add more or less according to the consistency required)

Method

Brownie:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Grease and flour a long loaf pan and set aside
  • Melt butter and stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla by using a spatula ONLY.
  • Fold in flour, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder.
  • Spread half of the batter in the prepared pan and gently press the KitKat bars on top of the brownie batter.
  • Pour rest of the brownie batter on top of the KitKats.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. Do not over cook.
Chocolate Ganache:
  • Combine all the ingredients in a pan and heat them over a stove stirring continuously.
  • Spread the ganache over the brownies while they are still warm.
  • Then chill in the refrigerator for a few hours or overnight before serving.
ENJOY!
