Mint Lemon Drink

The perfect drink to refresh you on a hot summer day, a sip of this sparkling drink is like an answer to one's prayers. A very famous drink in the middle east, popularly known as 'limonana'. My dad's absolute favorite. He order's this drink everywhere we go forgetting the fact that every restaurant has a different menu.

It is just sweetened lemonade with mint springs, and often it is blended with ice to make a bright green drink. For my version, I use just 3 ingredients - 7up, lemon and mint! and add ice for a more chilled drink depending on how every person in the family likes it.

I am not really a big fan of mint but this drink is just too refreshing that I totally overlooked the fact that it has a lot of mint in it. The following recipe makes 3 glasses. You can double the quantity of ingredients for more.

Ingredients

  • 500ml 7up
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • Ice cubes (optional)
Method
  • Blend mint, lemon juice and ice together in a blender, adding 1/4 of the 7up for easy blending.
  • Once blended, add the rest of the seven up and mix for it to incorporate.
  • Pour in glasses and serve.
